The Archive
The Lumensorbit archive — honest reads on money
Analysis, guides, and market commentary written for Kenyan readers who want the truth about their finances.
Why we write what we write
Every article in this archive exists because a real question from a real reader — or a gap in the Kenyan finance conversation — demanded an honest answer.
This isn't a content mill. Each piece takes days of research: pulling company filings, running our own numbers on NSE price-to-earnings data, reading CBK policy statements in full before summarising them. We'd rather publish one rigorous article a week than five shallow ones. Browse by topic below, or dive into our two most recent deep-dives to get a sense of the Lumensorbit standard.

Are NSE Bank Stocks Actually Cheap Right Now?
We run P/E and P/B ratios across Kenya's five largest listed banks and ask whether the recent dip represents value or a value trap.
The KES Emergency Fund Guide Nobody Wrote for You
How much to save, where to keep it in Kenya, and why the advice you've read elsewhere is calibrated for economies that look nothing like ours.
From the reader community
The NSE bond guide was the clearest thing I've read in five years of trying to understand fixed income in Kenya. Lumensorbit didn't talk down to me, didn't push me toward any product, and the maths actually checked out when I verified it myself.
