Finance, stripped of the noise

What nobody in finance is willing to admit

Lumensorbit publishes the analysis Kenyan investors actually need — numbers-first, agenda-free, written in plain English.

Most finance content is selling you something

We don't run affiliate programmes or accept paid placements. Our revenue comes from readers who value independent thinking.

Walk into any finance website and within thirty seconds you're offered a “free” course that leads to a sales funnel, or a broker recommendation that pays the site a fat referral fee. Lumensorbit was built precisely because we were tired of that model. Every article here starts with data — NSE figures, CBK policy releases, publicly available company filings — and works forward to a conclusion, not the other way around. If the numbers say a popular trade is a bad idea, we say so. No sponsor is going to stop us. The indigo-tech spirit of this blog reflects our belief that clear thinking and good information design should be as central to finance writing as the maths itself.

Three things we do differently

Independent analysis, real numbers, no hidden agenda — here's what that looks like in practice.

Data before opinion

Every piece starts with publicly verifiable sources — CBK releases, NSE market data, company annual reports. We show our working so you can check it. Opinion comes after the evidence, labelled clearly as our interpretation.

No paid placements

We have never accepted money to recommend a product, broker, or fund. When we review something, it's because we think it's worth your attention — positive or negative — not because anyone paid us to write about it.

Kenyan context by default

Global finance sites talk about S&P 500 index funds as if Nairobi doesn't exist. We anchor every guide in KES, Kenyan tax rules, NSE-listed instruments, and the economic realities most East African readers actually live with.

What readers say

Unsolicited feedback from the Lumensorbit community.

I'd been putting off learning about NSE bonds for two years because every explainer I found was either written for a London audience or was clearly trying to sell me something. Lumensorbit's guide on infrastructure bonds was the first one I finished without feeling manipulated. I bought my first bond three weeks later.
